The Collective Ambition™ is Urban Engine’s central hub of impact stories. It is our collection of the notable people and ideas that inspire us to spark, fuel and ignite the next generation of visionaries through our community programming. Huntsville City Schools has partnered with a local non-profit group to offer a new STEAM-focused innovation education program this semester. The Urban Engine Student Entrepreneur Program is introducing 450 high school students in elective career-related classes to the creative processes used in innovation, development, and business planning. The program also provides hands-on mentoring and guidance from local subject matter experts and business coaches. Students with an interest in business and entrepreneurship can expand their skill sets and think beyond the standard high school business classes with interactive and engaging learning opportunities.

The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology will host the second HudsonAlpha Tech Challenge February 22-24, 2019. This life sciences hackathon brings together students and professionals who attempt to solve challenges using an emerging technology, and apply it to biotech and the life sciences.

Video Game Design Club is a Huntsville-based startup that offers an ongoing educational experience for pre-teens and young adults interested in making video games from scratch. In addition to messing with real code, VGDC focuses on real world education about graphic design, animation, creative writing, audio engineering, and logistical mechanics for an immersive end-to-end curriculum that is designed to get kids from novice to well-versed experts within their own individual skill sets.
